“China’s Cities in Global Context”

June 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Event Navigation

Brown Bag Lecture

Please join us in Beijing for a lecture with:

Weiping Wu, Professor of Urban Planning at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, and Director of the M.S. Urban Planning program

While urbanizing China is undergoing socioeconomic and spatial transformation resembling patterns seen elsewhere in the world, parts of its trajectory and prospect clearly push the limits of contemporary urban and planning theories and experience. Situating China in the global context, this discussion will focus on the changes in the physical forms of cities as they undergo market reform and population transition.
