Watch Howard French and Jeff Wasserstrom Discuss China’s Past and Present

The Weatherhead East Asian Institute is pleased to share a December 12, 2016 conversation between Howard W. French, Associate Professor of Journalism at the Columbia Journalism School, and Jeffrey N. Wasserstrom, Chancellor’s Professor of History at the University of California, Irvine, about the influence of China’s political history on current events.

Howard W. French is author, most recently, of Everything Under the Heavens: How the Past Helps Shape China’s Push for Global Power (Alfred A. Knopf, March 2017).

Jeffrey N. Wasserstrom is author, most recently, of The Oxford Illustrated History of Modern China (Oxford University Press, 2016).
