November 28, 2022

WEAI's Professor Andrew Nathan and Teng Biao, a human rights activist, lawyer, and lecturer at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing are teaching a 24-course seminar through the New School on Chinese politics and foreign policy in Chinese.

In this 24-session seminar, Nathan and Teng discuss the political transformation of the People’s Republic of China in different aspects, including the Chinese communist revolution, party-state system, ideology, law and human rights, political economy, social structure, and international relations. Seminar attendees "will enjoy the up-to-date intellectual discussion of Chinese politics, and learn more analytical tools and ways of thinking for Chinese political-social studies. By the end of each class, you will come away being able to offer more in-depth and careful perspectives to the general debate on ‘where is China going and why’. It will be a wonderful opportunity to engage in dialogue with a variety of prominent experts, and connect with other class participants who share the same concern about Chinese politics and society."
