Chengzhi Wang is Chinese Studies Librarian at the C.V. Starr East Asian Library, responsible for Chinese collections and services. His recent publications include Archival Resources of Republican China in North America (Columbia University Press, 2016), The Sourcebook of North American Historical and Archival Resources on China’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (in press, Fudan University Press), and an article “John K. Fairbank and Chinese Collection Development in American Libraries during WWII” (Library & Information History, Volume 34, Issue 4, 2018). He served as the English Editor (2012-2016) of the “Journal of Library and Information Science”, co-published by the Chinese American Library Association and the National Taiwan Normal University.

He obtained his M.S. in Library and Information Science and Ph.D. in Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He worked at the Princeton University library before he moved to Columbia in 2003.
