Presentations & Group Discussion:
Mental health challenges for the Asian, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community:
- Model minority, bamboo ceiling, "double minority," especially for minority women
- Recent explosion in Asian-related hate crimes (339% increase in the US in 2022)
- Racism, transphobia, and LGBTQ+ intersectionality
- Historical context in the US (e.g. Vietnam War, EO 9066, Chinese Exclusion Act) in discrimination and generational trauma

All participants will also be trained in opioid overdose prevention to empower us to be change agents in fighting the health inequity of the Opioid Epidemic.
