LGBTQI issues have long been a contested topic in Japan and South Korea where traditional cultural values and individual rights and expressions are often competing against one another. Student organizations in Columbia SIPA, JASSA, Korea Focus, and SPECTRUM, are hosting an event to discuss the progress and challenges advancing LGBTQI rights in Japan and South Korea, and explore how to move forward to advance diversity in respective countries.

Organized by Japan Study Student Association at SIPA, Korea Focus at SIPA, and SPECTRUM and cosponsored by the Weatherhead East Asian Institute.
