The event marks the publication of The Illustrated Biography of Gao Yaojie. Dr. Gao was a celebrated AIDS activist who lived the last 13 years of her life in exile in New York City. During part of that time she was a visiting scholar at Columbia. Speakers will talk about various phases of her life; the practical and symbolic importance of her work; and her legacy.
