A 45-50-minute talk followed by Q and A. Dr. Wenjiao Cai will investigate the policies and practices of urban environmental management in early modern Seoul and discuss their implications for state-societal relations. This talk will also reflect on the historical sources and approaches for studying the urban environmental history of Chosŏn Korea.
