In late 2019, a number of Columbia students and faculty taught as part of the innovative public humanities seminar "Unlearning Tibet", hosted by High Peaks Pure Earth, where over 30 members of the global Tibetan diaspora participated in an introductory Tibetan history designed for heritage learners. This roundtable brings together instructors and participants from "Unlearning Tibet" with scholars engaged in decolonial studies in a conversation on decoloniality as a concept in the study of Tibet, and on the challenges of teaching Tibet in and out of the classroom.

This event is cosponsored by the Weatherhead East Asian Institute and the Modern Tibetan Studies Program at Columbia University.
