A group of leading Taiwan experts on mainland China, organized by the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, will share their assessments of China’s economic, social, and political stability.
Speakers' Bios:
Chin-fu Hung is a professor of Chinese politics and political economy in the Department of Political Science at National Cheng Kung University. He received his Ph.D. in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick, U.K. in 2006. He currently serves as a Commissioner in Taiwan’s Examination Yuan and as an Advisor to Taiwan’s Straits Exchange Foundation. His current research examines the impact of new media on authoritarian resilience in China.
Chuei-Ling Shin is Professor of Political Economy at National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan. Her research focuses on comparative economic security strategy and the changing global economic order, spanning China’s economy and supply-chain resilience, economic security in the European Union and Taiwan, BRICS, and international financial change. Her recent work includes a UK government-commissioned study on Taiwan’s economic security, alongside selected publications on Argentina’s economic reform and Taiwan’s relations with the Baltic region.
Meng-Chun Liu is Director of the First Research Division and a Research Fellow at the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), Taiwan. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Monash University. His research focuses on China’s economic and innovation policy, U.S.–China technology competition, RMB internationalization, supply-chain resilience, Taiwan’s industrial policy, and international trade and investment. His recent work examines techno-containment, latecomer innovation, open-weight AI ecosystems, and firms’ responses to tariff shocks and geopolitical restructuring.
