Deadline for research paper proposals: December 5, 2025. Deadline for op-eds and photo essays: February 28, 2026.

November 05, 2025

The Asia Pacific Affairs Council (APAC), a student group of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute, is seeking contributions for the 2026 edition of its annual publication, The APAC Journal. Columbia students across disciplines are invited to submit in three categories: research papers, op-eds, and photo essays.

This year’s theme is “Resilience and New Horizons”—“exploring how communities, countries, and individuals across the Asia-Pacific adapt, innovate, and imagine new futures in the face of ongoing global challenges.”

The deadline for research paper proposals is December 5, 2025, and February 28, 2026, for op-eds and photo essays. All submissions should reflect this year’s theme, center on the Asia Pacific Region, and maintain graduate-level research and writing standards.
