Qin Gao discusses poverty in China during COVID-19

Professor of Social Work Qin Gao discussed the precarity of China's most impoverished in the New York Times article "China Aims to End Extreme Poverty, but Covid-19 Exposes Gaps." 

While China's anti-poverty drive has helped lift millions out of poverty, the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the policy's shortcoming, especially for those living in rural areas. "They could easily fall into poverty and face various deprivations," said Gao.
