On June 25, 2021, Class of 1919 Professor of Political Science Professor Andrew Nathan published an essay in The Wall Street Journal titled, "An Anxious 100th Birthday for China’s Communist Party." Nathan writes, "The CCP has survived because of its adaptability, but a generational shift from traditional values to more liberal attitudes could undermine its popular support."
