Weatherhead Releases 2025-2026 Annual Report

This year's report covers the launch of two new lecture series and an innovative immersive learning program based in coastal Japan, in addition to WEAI's many other activities.

The Weatherhead East Asian Institute's 2025-2026 Annual Report is now available in print form and as a downloadable PDF.

The 2025–2026 report includes listings of the past academic year's public programs; an updated roster of all our community members, followed by a list of their latest publications; and a comprehensive acknowledgment of the Institute's funding sources.

Highlights of this year's report are the launch of the Columbia Summer in Itoshima program, an immersive, interdisciplinary learning experience based in coastal Japan, and two new programming initiatives, the Andrew J. Nathan Taiwan Lecture Series and Covid-19 Governance and Impacts: China from Comparative Perspectives. Look to Section 1 of the report, "Letter from the Director," for a summary of these and other activities, and Section 6, "Public Programming," for information on specific events.
