On June 3, Myron Cohen, former WEAI Director (1975-1976 and 2006-2014) and Columbia University Professor of Anthropology, gave a keynote speech via WebEx at the "International Research Conference in Commemoration of the 300th Anniversary of the Founding of the Six Brigades (六堆) [Hakka Militia in south Taiwan]", held in Pingdong. His talk was titled "Civil [文] and Military [武] in the Formation of South Taiwan Hakka Society."
