A winner has been selected for the Spring 2022 The Reed Essay Contest. The Institute congratulates Yuxin Chen on her winning essay titled “Gender and (the Lack of) Power.” The essay will be featured in the next issue of The Reed. WEAI is currently seeking visual essay submissions from Columbia, Teachers College, and Barnard students at any level addressing the theme: “Gender and Power in a Global Asia.” Images should be high-resolution original photographs or artwork, and the accompanying essay should be between 200-800 words long. In the event that any copyrighted materials are featured in the work, permissions should be received in advance of submission. The applicant whose submission is selected will receive a $250 prize and be featured in The Reed. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, May 5, 2022.
