Japan
The Weatherhead East Asian Institute is home to over 25 faculty and research scholars of Japan from across the disciplines of art history, business, economics, film, history, law, literature, and political science, among others. Each year, guests from academia, government, the nonprofit sector, and the arts are invited to speak at public events and workshops addressing the history, politics, economics, and culture of Japan. Additionally, the Institute supports undergraduate and graduate research as well as publications about the region and works closely with affiliates such as the Center for Japanese Legal Studies, the Center on Japanese Economy and Business, the Donald Keene Center of Japanese Culture, and the Institute for Medieval Japanese Studies. Through its Master of Arts in Regional Studies - East Asia program, the Institute provides graduate students the opportunity to take courses on a wide variety of topics concerning modern Japan.
